Introduction

This website is operated by Liz Zeta (SoftSyntax), a personal portfolio and professional presence. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use this site or get in touch with us. By using this website, you accept the practices described here.

Data controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is Liz Zeta, based in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. You can contact us at Heyimellizabeth@gmail.com for any privacy-related questions or requests.

Data we collect

We may collect the following:

  • Contact form: When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message content. Form submissions are processed by Formspree (a third-party service).
  • Direct contact: If you email us or otherwise get in touch, we may store your contact details and the content of your communication to respond and maintain a record of our correspondence.
  • Technical data: When you visit the site, we may indirectly receive or log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and device type, for example through hosting or any analytics we may use in the future. We do not currently use analytics cookies; see our Cookie Policy for details.

We do not collect account or payment data through this website.

Purpose and legal basis

We use your data to respond to your enquiries, run and improve the website, and comply with legal obligations. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on your consent (e.g. when you submit the contact form) or our legitimate interest in operating the site and communicating with you, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Formspree and third parties

Contact form data is sent to and processed by Formspree. Their privacy policy is available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Retention

We keep contact form and correspondence data for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards (for example, up to 24 months unless we have a legal obligation or your consent to keep it longer). After that, we delete or anonymise it where possible.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or another jurisdiction that grants these rights, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Data portability, where applicable
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example, the Dutch Data Protection Authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at Heyimellizabeth@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. We will indicate the date of the last update below. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
